FULL TIME FOSTER HOMES NEEDED, REALLY, REALLY BAD!!! The more full time foster homes we have, the more animals we can save from being euthanized. We need homes for all our animals till they find their forever homes (Normally 2-4 wks). If you are interested, PLEASE click on the HELP NEEDED!! tab on the left margin for more info, then click on Forms/Applications to fill out a Foster Application. It is a wonderful way to give back to our community through volunteering. It doesn't take much, just an open heart and a warm shelter for these fur babies to be saved. The number of animals being euthanized at shelters is staggering. We need to get out as many as possible so the world will get a chance to meet them, love them, and appreciate them. (Contact Andrea at akueny01@yahoo.com if you would like to discuss fostering. Leave a phone number and I will be happy to call you.)
Our volunteer Megan, who organizes our Mummers & Mutts fundraiser, was featured on an internet blog-radio show. Listen to her interview here!
TreeTops Animal Rescue is a 501c3 nonprofit animal adoption organization in southeastern PA dedicated to placing shelter animals into caring, permanent homes. We do not have a shelter to visit- our volunteers foster these animals in our homes, which allows us to give you an accurate description of each animal's needs and personality.
Why do we take so many dogs from southern shelters?
We do sometimes take dogs from local shelters in Philadelphia and Reading, but "desirable" dogs in northern shelters readily find adopters, so much so that many local shelters don't let dogs go to a rescue unless they are considered "unadoptable", i.e.the ones with physical or behavioral issues or of course the larger pit mixes which there are always too many of.
One of the shelters we partner with is Darlington County Humane Association in rural South Carolina. To give you an idea of what they have to deal with, they took in over 4000 animals in 2011- and 1500 were saved. Unfortunately these shelters are so full and so few local adoptions that even beautiful friendly young dogs and puppies end up on the put to sleep list every week, so they rely on regular transports run by volunteer who drive the dogs from the shelter up I-95, meeting up with rescues like ours all the way up into New England .
NEXT MEET & GREET
Meet & Greets are public events where people can come meet some of our available pets and speak to volunteers about adopting or volunteering. Please understand that we do not adopt out animals during these events. If you are interested in adopting, please see our ADOPTION INFO page, and complete an online application.

WHAT I ASKED FOR, WHAT I NEEDED
When I got my new dog I asked for strength that I might rear her perfectly; I was given weakness that I might feed her more treats.
I asked for good health that I might rest easy; I was given a "special needs" dog that I might know nurturing.
I asked for an obedient dog that I might feel proud; I was given stubbornness that I might feel humble.
I asked for compliance that I might feel masterful; I was given a clown that I might laugh.
I asked for a companion that I might not feel lonely; I was given a best friend that I would feel loved.
I got nothing I asked for, But everything that I needed.
I got a dog.
