Update 4/20/10: Peyton has been working on meeting people, and is actually becoming a bit more social. She is still initially a bit reserved, but warms up more quickly. She would do best in a quiet home without young children. She would be fine for a working adult, or for a senior. She does enjoy her walks, but she is not overly active. She is not at all happy in this current situation, and to be honest she is not getting the attention that she needs to really make progress.

I'm not sure what else I can do. Peyton needs a home.

Peyton is a Border Collie mix born 2/09.  Once she gets used to people, she is such a sweet and affectionate dog, quite a little lady! She is spayed, housebroken, crate-trained, all shots (including canine flu), hip x-ray clear, about 55 pounds, nice house manners, walks nicely on leash and is quite willing to learn more obedience. This is a dog that will want to be near you, but not all over you. She is a great walking/hiking/jogging partner! She is very playful but submissive with other dogs, interested in the cats but not an issue. On occasion she does get a bit queasy in the car but with a little patience she will get past it. She is a country gal, but would adapt to most lifestyles.  Please be aware that, like most Border Collies, she is initially a bit stand-offish and watchful until she has surveyed the situation, and because of this, she may not show well to new people in a first visit, so you will need to give her time to settle in.
