Sugar & Spice are two minature horses who were rescued from an abusive situation. Mom Spice (brown, estimated age 30) remains somewhat skittish but she will come to eat out of your hand and is easily led when haltered. Brown & white daughter Sugar (estimated age 5) is very people friendly, but although she can walk and run, she was a severely malnurished after birth so has a permanent limp. Sugar and Spice are up to date on vetting and are seen by a farrier regularly. As you can see in the picture, both are good with adults and kids.
We are looking for a home where they will be pets (they cannot be ridden) and where they will get more personal attention then they get here. Their original rescuer had to move and they are currently living with minature donkeys and goats, but we have realized that we don't have enough grazing room here and the horses ideally should get more hands on attention then the donkeys and goats need.
They must be adopted and kept together and adopters must be able to show proof that they can provide shelter, pasture, vetting, and transportation. Please complete the "Other Animal Application" . A donation to Treetops Animal Rescue will be required.
