Update from the foster home: Homer is the most affectionate cat I ever met,  very well behaved ,  trusts people, and is a pleasure to have around. He listened when I told him no, and stopped doing whatever he was doing right away. He loved to sleep on me or my husband - who fell madly in love with him. After about a week our cats accepted him, although they were taken back by the fact that he would walk up and pop them on the head with his paw for no apparent reason. If they walked past when he was laying down he would often smack them on their hind legs. But he would also walk up and give them kisses on the nose, just like he did to us, and they clearly liked him. Our cats would stare at him in wonderment when he played. He grabs a toy and runs around like he is on fire, pouncing on the toy with extreme energy. He is almost a bit manic in his play. Our cats had no idea what to do, they just stared, ready to run away. But when he was in his crazy play mode he never approached them at all, nor was he ever aggressive with them. But he did chase them and none of them dared to chase him. I am sure that would have changed if he had stayed longer. He is quite vocal, and likes to “chat”. He managed to find every toy in our house. Things I hadn’t seen for a very long time. He played and played and played. He is a lovely cat. I wish I had one that was as physically affectionate as he is. He is welcome back here any time.

Yesterday I delivered him to Beth at Concord Pet in Kennett Square. It is a large, very nice and very clean pet store. I believe the staff will take a great deal of time to play and cuddle with him there, and he clearly took to Beth right away. With his outgoing and affectionate personality I have no doubt that he will charm someone in to adopting him very soon.
