4/19/14 Ivan is here. The video is from the first day in foster care and has since really settled in and is doing wonderful and enjoying being a loved house dog. He was a little shy at the transport but by the time we drove to his foster home we were besties! He likes car rides, and loves everyone human he meets if they treat him like one of the family. He just loves other dogs and would be happy to play or not if they want to be left alone. He is a submissive dog, he will follow other dogs but doesn't over power them at all. Just goes along with the gang. He is good on a leash and would love to accompany you if you like to take walks or maybe a run but coach potato comes to mind first to Ivan. He is easy going and very adaptable. He had his vet check up and is now UTD on all vaccines and microchipped and ready to go. He follows his foster mom in and out of every room and will listen to you when you correct him. He is doing great on potty training as long as you take him out frequently. He is crate trained and quiet, just took a few days for him to settle down (just whined a little, no barking) and we do put him in there when we have to do errands and at night for bedtime till he is fully housetrained. Ivan is not a loud barky dog, he only barks when someone comes to the door or a dog comes to his yard, after a few barks he will go up to them to greet them. He is basically just letting you know someone new is at the house. He is a real love bug and wants nothing else but to sit very close and snuggle while you are watching TV. He would love to be a great bed partner. We are looking for a home where someone works from home, retired, can bring him to work with them since or have someone come in during the day to let him out for a potty brake. He would be a wonderful therapy dog too. He is sensative and very obedient. He would do great at a dog park because he is a social dog. Check out his video and pics. We do have to guess at breeds but he seems to be a mutt at heart.
If your interested please get your applications in now because he won't be around long! He would make a great family pet.
3/17/14 SOUTH CAROLINA SHELTER EVAL: Cuddly Cute!! Ivan is one of THE cutest little dogs!! He's very easy to overlook here at the shelter as he is sharing his space with 4 other dogs who are 1/3 larger than he is and infinitely more rambunctious and energetic. Ivan is the quiet guy on the sidelines watching everyone else play and doing his best to not get in the way. With his eye on a lap to calmly curl up in or a sunny patch of grass to sunbath on. Very gentle and nuzzly, Ivan is a doting little guy hoping to head on home soon!
